Alumni career paths research

The main goal of the research is to learn about the professional lives of our university graduates in order to adjust better our educational offer to the demands of the labor market. Thanks to the study, we can collect information on the career path of Jagiellonian University graduates and make them available to university authorities and heads of units. The research is being conducted since 2008.

A panel technique is used for each year group to observe the dynamics in changes in Alumni’s careers. The same respondents from a given year group, i.e. representatives of the population are requested to fill in a questionnaire three times: once 6 months after their graduation and then after three and five years. The monitoring of the Jagiellonian University Alumni’s career is realized as a quantitative survey via the internet, where a link to a questionnaire is sent to those registered on a pre-prepared list of email addresses. Questionnaires are intended to be filled in by Alumni themselves.

Every graduate is eligible to take part in this survey. The questionnaires are sent to each graduate.

We encourage you to complete the form available after logging in to the USOSweb website - thanks to this we will be able to stay in touch with graduates.

Polish Graduate Tracking System

In May 2016 the Ministry of Science and Higher Education established a project for monitoring the economic development of alumni of schools of higher education, which is based on administrative data from two sources: the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) and the Integrated System of Information on Science and Higher Education (POL-on). The data provide an insight into the economic situation of Polish graduates of schools of higher education. This, in turn, enables the comparison of the economic development of JU graduates with graduates of other schools of higher education Poland.

The database can be found on the website.

For comparison of data from various Polish schools in higher education, analysis of data within the same fields of study is recommended.
